Tables Turned: Home Inns Signage Copied In Hangzhou
Below are pictures of the street signs for two Chinese economy hotels; the hotels are located within a block of each other in Hangzhou.
 
The one on the top is for Home Inns (Nasdaq: HMIN), China’s largest economy hotel chain. The one on the bottom is for a local hotel called “Zhe Hang Holiday Inn”. I guess this is a positive sign for Home Inns—their brand and logo are well-known and strong enough for other hotels to believe they can benefit from copying them.
Ironically, the Home Inns logo is also very similar to US hotel chain Best Western’s logo:
