Granite Global Ventures announced it closed a $400 million expansion stage venture capital fund, Granite Global Ventures III, yesterday.
The fund will focus on lead investor positions in the United States and China, according to Granite's release.
Granite has one of the biggest on-the-ground teams of any US VC in China, with managing directors Jenny Lee and Jixun Foo, and principal Helen Wong all located in Shanghai.
The firm's last fund hit big with an investment in Alibaba a year before Yahoo's multi-billion dollar investment in the online business directory.
Current portfolio companies include Tudou, HiSoft, Chinacars, and Bokee.
