The9 Launches The Burning Crusade

The9 (Nasdaq: NCTY) officially launched expansion pack "The Burning Crusade" for its MMORPG World of Warcraft (WoW) on September 6. The company added six server groups to WoW's eighth server farm on the same day. The game now has a total of 297 server groups for the game. Previously, The9 estimated that it will launch the expansion around September 10.

The9 has partnered with China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 728.HK) to issue "The Burning Crusade" themed long distance phone cards. Pictures from "The Burning Crusade" are being used as covers of the phone cards. The cards are mainly sold to university students.

The9 has removed Founder Technology Group (600601.SH) fonts from "The Burning Crusade", reports Sohu. Founder sued Vivendi Games subsidiary Blizzard Entertainment in August for using five of Founder's registered fonts in the Chinese version of WoW.
