China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) and China's Ministry of Information Industry (MII) plan to jointly release regulations for online video and audio programs in 2008, reports Beijing Business Today quoting MII minister Wang Xudong on December 27. Only state-owned firms and state-controlled companies can broadcast video and audio programs online, and all programs are subject to MII approval, according to the report. The new regulation only applies to professionally published programs, not user-generated content.
