China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL, 941.HK) first and second round negotiations with Apple have been unsuccessful due to revenue sharing ratios and multimedia messaging services (MMS), reports qq.com quoting China Mobile data department general manager Gao Nianshu. Gao said China Mobile was unwilling to accept Apple's demands for a 20-30 percent cut of iPhone revenues, and was further influenced by iPhone's inability to support MMS. Though Apple is paying more attention to US and Japanese markets, Gao said China Mobile intends to enter third round iPhone negotiations with Apple.
