Editorial Summary

China Eastern Airlines (600115.SH; 0670.HK; NYSE:CEA) has never considered a bid from Air China's (601111.SH; 0753.HK) parent company China National Aviation Holding Company (CNAHC), reports Jinghua Journal quoting China Eastern board secretary Luo Zhuping. According to the report, China Eastern would take a look at Air China's bid, but the company still believes that a partnership with Singapore Airlines Ltd (SIA) is still the best option. Shares of China Eastern Airlines rose 2.51 percent on a gloomy day on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Wednesday, to close at RMB20.86. Shares of Air China fell 0.51 percent to close at RMB29.15 in Shanghai.

There was a pronounced dip in commercial real estate sales in China during the first week of 2008, reports 21st Century Business Herald quoting statistics from China Index Academy. Shares of Poly Real Estate Group Co., Ltd (600048.SH) and China Vanke Co., Ltd. (000002.SZ) fell 7.44 percent and 5.52 percent to close at RMB69.5 and RMB28.58, respectively, on Wednesday on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
