China Merchants Securities plans to go public around the Chinese Spring Festival, reports China Business Post quoting an unnamed executive at the brokerage. Merchants Securities will be the first Chinese securities company to list since CITIC Securities (600030.SH) went public in January 2003.
Everbright Securities plans to go public in March or April, reports Shanghai Securities Journal quoting China Everbright Group chairman Tang Shuangning. According to Tang, there is no specific time schedule for Everbright Group's banking unit China Everbright Bank to list, but the bank will issue stocks on the Shanghai Stock Exchange before listing in Hong Kong. Previous reports said the bank planned to list in Shanghai in the first half of 2008 to raise more than RMB20 billion.
