Social networking service (SNS) site 51.com plans to hire an online game operation director and release a casual game platform in the first half of 2008, reports CNETNews quoting 51.com CEO Pang Shengdong. Pang said 51.com is offering RMB5 million to whoever finds the company their new director. According to a company source, 51.com will have more than 500 employees, including 40 online game employees, after 2008 recruitment. This year, 51.com has recorded 100 million registered users, 300 million daily page views and 600,000 peak concurrent users, reports Yesky. Established in August, 2005, 51.com has received investment from Sequoia Capital, SIG, Intel Capital, and Redpoint Ventures.
