The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.9 percent to close at 4,417.8 on Wednesday, while the Shenzhen Composite Index increased 0.22 percent to close at 1,347.8. Trading volume on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges was RMB92.6 billion and RMB46 billion, respectively.
China Minsheng Banking Corporation (600016.SH) will issue no more than 15,000 convertible bonds with a par value of RMB100 each, according to a filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Shares of Minsheng Bank fell 4.53 percent to close at RMB12.22 on Wednesday in Shanghai.
China Everbright Group's banking unit China Everbright Bank's listing plan was approved at the bank's shareholders meeting on Tuesday, reports Changjiang Times. The bank plans to go public in Shanghai as soon as in March or April, said the report quoting an industry insider. Previous reports said Everbright Securities plans to list in March or April, and Everbright Bank may list in Shanghai in the first half of 2008 to raise more than RMB20 billion.
