Editorial Summary
The Shanghai Composite Index rose 8.13 percent to close at 4,672.2 on Monday, while the Shenzhen Composite Index increased 7.91 percent to close at 1,375.7. Trading volume on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges reached RMB109.2 billion and RMB46.5 billion, respectively.
Shares of China Railway Group Limited (China Railway) (601390.SH, 0390.HK) jumped 10.05 percent to close at RMB10.51 on Tuesday in Shanghai. Shares of Air China (601111.SH; 0753.HK) and China Eastern Airlines (600115.SH; 0670.HK; NYSE:CEA) both reached the 10-percent maximum daily increase to close at RMB22.45 and RMB15.18, respectively, on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Monday.
