The Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.59 percent on Thursday to close at 4,361, while the Shenzhen Composite Index increased 0.52 percent to close at 1,388.1. Trading volume on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges reached RMB133.2 billion and RMB64.7 billion, respectively.
The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) is scheduled to release regulations for Shenzhen's Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) in April, reports Securities Times quoting CSRC chairman Shang Fulin. Shang said there is still no time table for regulations regarding the return of Hong Kong-listed red chips and stock futures.
