Beijing-based computer-based testing services provider ATA Inc. (Nasdaq: ATAI) reported results for the third quarter ending December 31, 2007 on Tuesday. Net revenue was up 83.8 percent year-on-year to US$9.1 million in the period, while net income increased 151.5 percent year-on-year to US$2.4 million. ATA CFO Carl Yeung said the company tends to see strongest results in the seasonal third quarter.
In the three month period, overall tests delivered fell 4.4 percent from the year-ago period to approximately 970,341, while the average price per test increased from RMB10.7 last year to RMB38.4. By the end of the quarter, ATA had 1,835 authorized test centers and 339 staff including: 114 client service and support employees, 103 sales and marketing employees, 63 research and development employees and 59 general and administrative employees. For the next quarter, ATA expects net revenue between RMB29 million and RMB31 million and a net loss.
