Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) (601600.SH; 2600.HK; NYSE:ACH) has bid up to RMB4.2 billion for shares in six companies operating aluminum-related businesses, according to a company filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Chalco booked RMB76.2 billion in revenue of 2007, up 17.51 year-on-year, contributed by decreasing aluminum costs and increasing sales. However, net profit fell 13.65 percent year-on-year to RMB10.2 billion. Shares of Chalco dropped 9.76 percent to close at RMB22.2 in Shanghai on Tuesday.
China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd (CPIC) (601601.SH) will postpone its Hong Kong debut to April, where it plans to raise US$2 billion to US$2.5 billion through the sale of 783 million shares, reports Beijing Times. The insurer raised RMB30 billion on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in December 2007. Shares of CPIC fell 3.33 percent to close at RMB33.09 in Shanghai on Monday.
Air China (601111.SH; 0753.HK) booked RMB49.7 billion in 2007 revenue, with a total profit of RMB5.2 billion. Shares of Air China fell 5.95 percent to close at RMB13.75 in Shanghai on Tuesday.
