Rumor: SK Telecom To Acquire Chinese Online Game Companies

Editorial Summary

Korea's SK Telecom is negotiating acquisition deals with three to four Chinese online game companies, reports The Chosun Ilbo. According to the report, the companies are all either already listed or preparing to list on the Hong Kong Exchange. SK Telecom has set up a special team to focus on the acquisitions, said the report citing a company executive. SK Telecom announced its agreement to purchase a 42.2 percent stake in Beijing-based music label Taihe Rye Music on March 5.
