Beijing-based online TV and movie site operator Jeboo (Jeboo.com) sued the Motion Picture Association (MPA) for reputation infringement in the Second Beijing Intermediate People's Court on March 21, reports chinanews.com.cn. Jeboo is suing for RMB1 million in compensation and a public apology. Jeboo claims that the MPA released a statement alleging Jeboo admitted to copyright infringement and has paid a large sum in compensation for the act. Jeboo contends that it has not committed infringement. The company was sued by five US film companies for US$7 million last November and negotiated the case out of court.
