B2B Company Tejari Expands China Presence With e-Silk Road
Middle Eastern business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce site Tejari (www.tejari.com) joined with two Chinese partners to announce its "e-Silk Road" plan on Thursday.
According to the announcement, Tejari will create a joint venture with Qingdao real estate developer YinShengTai Group to establish Tejari China (Te Jia Ye). The joint venture will include the creation of more than a dozen Chinese offices in 2008.
Tejari also partnered with ShanghaiMart to promote textile trade through the establishment of trading community portal www.ishanghaimart.com According to ShanghaiMart general manager Hensen Tien, the site will link more than 220,000 Chinese textile manufacturers and buyers across the world. Tien said ShanghaiMart has 2,500 members. Tejari has 150,000 members in the Middle East.
