Trina Solar Cancels Polysilicon Facility Plans

Editorial Summary

Jiangsu-based solar power products manufacturer Trina Solar Ltd (NYSE: TSL) announced on Monday that it will discontinue development of its 10,000 MT polysilicon production facility. The facility was expected to cost $1 billion. Along with the decision, Trina Solar has passed up on a related equipment supply contract with GT Solar worth $49 million. Trina said the decision comes in light of more favorable polysilicon supply conditions.
