Shanghai-based catalogue and online male-clothing seller PPG (ppg.cn) was confronted with a public statement by Shanghai Zhongrun Jiefang Media Co., Ltd on Monday asking PPG to contact the company regarding RMB 1.65 million in unpaid advertising fees, reports Oriental Morning Post. According to a Zhongrun Jiefang executive, PPG had not contacted the company by April 22.
PPG owes RMB 950,000 in backed advertising payments to Shanghai advertising company Tang Sun, according to a Tang Sun legal department employee. The employee said the PPG logo is being auctioned of due to the conflict. PPG is also facing legal battles with Shanghai advertising companies KCS, Dong Jie Media Co., Ltd and Yuantai Communication Co., Ltd. According to PPG chairman Li Liang, PPG spends over RMB 200 million a year on advertising and doesn't sweat million dollar lawsuits.
