Tencent Signs MOU With Intel For Servers

Editorial Summary
Tencent (0700.HK) signed a multi-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) for computer servers in Beijing on April 25. The companies will establish a joint lab to work on server virtualization technology and increasing servers’ energy efficiency. Tencent CTO Xiong Minghua said that Tencent’s platform can accommodate 100 million simultaneous users and that Tencent’s server needs are one-fourth those for similar companies.
