MII Approves More TD-SCDMA Manufacturers

Editorial Summary
Chinese electronics maker Amoi (600057.SH) and TCL Group (000100.SZ) subsidiary TCL Communications (2618.HK) have won TD-SCDMA manufacturing licenses in the Ministry of Industry and Information's (MII) third round of licensing, reports Beijing Times quoting the TD-SCDMA alliance. This round, four handsets including the Amoi T5 and TCL U398 along with Huawei's S330 and ET608 models were approved, said the report. China currently has 13 licensed TD-SCDMA manufacturers working on 25 approved handsets, according to the report.
