Tencent (0700.HK) plans to hold recruitment fairs in Silicon Valley this June to fill mostly China-based posts, reports Cyzone.cn. According to Tencent human resources director Xi Dan, Tencent has high standards for select department employees and is having difficulty finding suitable candidates in China. Tencent is expected to recruit 500 new graduates in 2008 for a total of 1,000 newcomers this year.
Tencent offers incentives of between RMB 500 and RMB 20,000 to employees who introduce new employees to the company, said the report. Through the program, Tencent has taken in former Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) staffers, according to the report.
Tencent plans to increase its servers from 30,000 to 100,000 in the next three to five years, reports Nanfang Daily. The company intends to adopt mostly those servers with Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) processors, said the report. Tencent signed a multi-year server agreement with Intel on April 25.
