Sales revenue from online publishing reached RMB 20 billion with online games accounting for RMB 10.57 billion of the total in China in 2007, reports xinhuanet.com quoting General Administration of Press and Publications (GAPP) digital and online publishing products department vice director Kou Xiaowei. Kou said original domestic online game sales reached RMB 6.88 billion, up 62.3 percent year-on-year, during the period to make up 65.1 percent of total revenue for the online game market.
Thirty percent of China's more than 1.5 million websites are involved in online publishing with over 100,000 employees, according to GAPP statistics.
