China Records 74M Broadband Subscribers
Internet, Lou Qingjian, MII, Ministry of Information Industry
Editorial Summary
China currently has 220 million Internet users and 74.14 million broadband subscribers, reports Communications World Weekly quoting Ministry of Industry and Information (MII) vice minister Lou Qingjian at the 2008 IEEE International Conference on Communications on Monday. Lou said 97 percent of villages can support broadband installation. China had 210 million Internet users and 68.31 million broadband users in early 2008.
