China Unicom (NYSE: CHU, 762.HK, 600050.SH) subsidiary Shanghai Unicom started selling mobile phones with terrestrial mobile TV service built-in last week, reports Shanghai Youth Daily. The phones have obtained network access licenses from the Ministry of Industry and Information (MII) and use Shanghai Media Group's (SMG) mobile TV standard, said the report. The phones have a ten centimeter retractable antenna and users are able to watch five channels including two China Central Television (CCTV) channels and three SMG channels, said the report.
