Guangzhou-based online video site 56.com has been shut down due to lax supervision of some inappropriate videos, reports Sohu quoting a 56.com employee. According to the employee, the videos in question were recorded and uploaded to 56.com's website using 56.com's direct upload program for users with a webcam. 56.com has been offline since 6:00 pm June 3. An announcement on the company's homepage says that the site is temporarily closed while the company updates its system.
