China Central Television (CCTV) partnered with Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) for a High Definition (HD) TV Alliance on June 24, reports qq.com. Lenovo (0992.HK), Founder Technology (600601.SH), Acer, Dell (Nasdaq: DELL), Haier (1169.HK) and Huaqi Information's Aigo brand all joined the alliance and will promote related products. According to the report, Alliance members will sell a USB device for notebook computers that will allow users to watch CCTV HD TV programs. The USB device is designed by Tsinghua Tongfang (600100.SH) subsidiary Tsinghua Tongfang Legend Silicon Tech and currently five companies including Huaqi Information and Digital China (0861.HK) have released USB products, said the report. Currently the USB device costs RMB 500 to RMB 800, but it is cheaper when bought bundled with a new notebook computer, said the report.
