The Shanghai Composite Index increased 3.64% to close at 2,905.014 while the Shenzhen Composite Index rose 4.77% to close at 839.7 on Wednesday. Trading volume on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges reached RMB 67.51 billion and RMB 33.97 billion, respectively. Five companies' stocks fell in Shanghai while three companies fell in Shenzhen, according to Yahoo data.
Shares of Hunan Jinjian Cereals Industry (600127.SH), Cofco Xinjiang Tunhe (600737.SH) and Henan Lianhua Gourmet Powder (600186.SH) soared 10.07%, 10.03% and 10.11%, respectively. The Ministry of Commerce said on Tuesday that prices of production materials rose 0.5% last week over the previous week, reports Xinhua. Prices of farm production materials were up while grain prices were static, said the report.
China COSCO Holdings Company Limited (601919.SH, 1919.HK) will issue 535 million limited shares on Thursday, reports National Business Daily. Company shares jumped 5.17% on Wednesday.
