China Mobile (NYSE: CHL, 941.HK) announced on Monday that it will purchase a total of 200,000 TD-SCDMA terminals in its second round of TD-SCDMA bidding, reports 163.com. China Mobile has already purchased 6,500 higher-end handsets from Samsung and 5,000 similar market phones from China Wireless Technologies Limited (2369.HK) subsidiary Yulong Coolpad, said the report. Ninety percent of the newly acquired TD-SCDMA handsets will be sold for between RMB 1,000 and RMB 2,500, while the remaining 10% will go for between RMB 3,000 and RMB 6,000, according to the report.
