The Shanghai Composite Index increased 1.95% to close at 2,703.529, while the Shenzhen Composite Index rose 3.42% to close at 811.76 on Thursday. Trading volume on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges reached RMB 74.1 billion and RMB 37.48 billion, respectively. Shares of WanXiang Doneed (600371.SH), Xinjiang Talimu Agriculture Development (600359.SH) and Yuan Long Ping High-Tech Agriculture (000998.SZ) soared 10.4%, 10.04% and 10.02%, respectively.
The Taiwan government is allowing Taiwanese securities companies to invest up to 10% of their funds in A-shares companies, up from the previous rate of 0.4%, reports DongSen News. Funds no longer face a cap on red chip and H-shares holdings, previously set at 10%.
The Shanghai Stock Exchange released an investor education sub-channel (edu.sse.com.cn or sse.com.cn/edu) on Thursday. The site provides basic information about stock trading through text and video and offers a virtual stock trading game.
