Dell (Nasdaq: DELL) China began accepting payment from Alibaba's online payment tool Alipay for orders made on Alibaba's mostly consumer-to-consumer (C2C) e-commerce site Taobao.com last week, reports BiaNews. Alipay does not charge buyers a service fee for online payment service. AliPay registered users grew 60% to 80 million in the first five months of 2008.
Alipay has partnered with 10 of China's 15 largest online gaming companies to date, reports Information Times. The report said the ten partners excluded Shanda (Nasdaq: SNDA) and NetEase (Nasdaq: NTES).
The payment tool is in close cooperation with online retailer Dangdang.com, according to a Sohu report quoting Alipay president Shao Xiaofeng. Shao provided no details on the partnership. Dangdang.com does not currently support Alipay.
