Chinese wireless application protocol (WAP) site operator Beijing Zhang Zhong Fashion Technology Co. Ltd is facing fines and executive jail sentences for broadcasting "unhealthy" content, reports Beijing Times. The Beijing Chaoyang District Court fined the company RMB 500,000 on July 7 for the transmission of sexually explicit content, sentencing company general manager Xie to five years in prison and a RMB 10,000 fine and product department manager Zhang to four years and RMB 8,000, said the report. Xie was found guilty of instructing Zhang to upload the questionable content to the company's WAP site between late 2006 and April, 2007. China Mobile (NYSE: CHL, 941.HK) claimed 15% of Zhang Zhong revenue that came in between RMB 1 million and RMB 4 million per month in 2006, said the report. In April, 2007, Zhang Zhong recorded 79,000 page views and sent a total of 103 unhealthy images to China Mobile users, according to the report.
