CNNIC: China Internet Users Reach 253M Pushed By Music Applications

China had 253 million Internet users including 73.05 million handset mobile Internet users by the end of June, reports Sohu quoting China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) research center director Liu Bing on Thursday. In the first half of 2008, online music applications were the hottest Internet attraction with 214 million users, compared to 120.26 million e-commerce users and 195.36 million instant messaging (IM) users, according to data from the CNNIC's 22nd survey report released on July 23.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced that China had 220 million Internet users and 74.14 million broadband subscribers on June 2.
