2688: Alibaba Stole Our Trademark
Beijing Number 1 Intermediate People's Court started hearing on a trademark dispute between Alibaba and Beijing Zipdisc on June 29, reports Chongqing Business Daily. Beijing Zipdisc operates the online retailer 2688.com, which is a homonym of Alibaba in Chinese. According to Zipdisc, the company registered five trademarks relating to 2688 from April 14 to May 14 of 1999, before Alibaba registered its name.
