Solarfun Signs Italian Module Supply Contracts
Vertically integrated ingot, cell and module maker Solarfun Power Holdings (Nasdaq:SOLF) has entered into two contracts to supply a total of 12MW of PV modules to projects in Italy, the company announced July 27. Solarfun signed with GranSolarGhella to supply 6MW in the second half of 2010 to a project in southern Italy, and a second contract with T.R.Z. Tozzi Renewable Energy to ship 6MW of PV modules to central Italy during the third quarter of 2010, the report said.
Solarfun plans to increase its cell capacity by 50MW to bring its annual output capacity to 550MW by early in the first quarter of 2011 and plans to convert 160MW of existing cell lines to high-efficiency cell capacity.
