Youku Confirms SARFT License
Beijing-based video site Youku.com received a broadcasting license from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) on July 3, reports Sina. Beijing-based competitors 6Rooms (6.cn) and Ku6.com announced SARFT licenses last month. Youku.com confirmed a $30 million investment led by Maverick Capital and joined by existing investors Brookside Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, Farallon Capital and Chengwei Ventures on June 30.
