Tencent Olympic Interviews, Thousands Comment On Liu Xiang News
Central China Television's (CCTV) news channel began broadcasting Tencent's (0700.HK) video interviews with Olympic champions on August 16, while Hunan Satellite TV and Beijing Satellite TV broadcast the interview program during prime time, reports Xinhuanet.com.
Within one hour of the August 18 release of news that gold medal hurdler Liu Xiang had withdrawn from the Olympics, Tencent recorded 120,000 comments on the event. Sina (Nasdaq: SINA) and NetEase (Nasdaq: NTES) accumulated 27,000 and 23,000 comments on their versions of the news, respectively, while Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU) recorded 4,000 related comments, said the report.
