Mop To Acquire Donews
Entertainment portal Mop will acquire IT community Donews, Pacific Epoch has confirmed with a Donews insider. The acquisition will be announced soon. Mop will acquire 100 percent of Donews. Donews founder Liu Ren will join Mop as its second in command. Donews is the second major acquisition for Mop following Mop's acquisition of social networking site UUme in June. Mop has plans to go public in 2006 or 2007. Donews' older and more educated professional users fills a niche that Mop, with its younger demographic, lacks. Donews is also popular for its IT related blogs, which should jumpstart Mop's blogging business.
