Rock Mobile Diversifies In Response To China Mobile's Music Strategy
Wireless music service provider Rock Mobile will speed up its diversification into enterprise wireless value added services in light of recent developments in the industry, China Business News reports. Rock Mobile CEO Yang Jiahong said that with the Monday report that China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 941.HK) will work directly with music companies on wireless music services, larger SPs will look to enter the enterprise WVAS market to offset revenue losses from mobile music services. Yang said Rock Mobile's enterprise WVAS services revenue will reach 50 million Yuan this year and will double in 2007. Rock Mobile began providing WVAS services to electronics chain Suning in April 2006.
