JLM's Economy Hotel update includes data from calls to more than 900 hotels in the seven largest hotel chains in China. Home Inns opened 12 hotels in March, bringing it's total to 34 in the first quarter and giving the company an even 300 hotels in operation at the end of March.
According to our data, Home Inns� first quarter occupancy rate, excluding Top Star hotels, fell more than 8% from the fourth quarter of 2007. March month-on-month occupancy, however, recovered to January levels after February’s dismal numbers. Occupancy rates at China’s top seven economy hotel chains remained strong in March, despite rapid industry expansion.
